We’re Different, We’re the Same Our key concept for the last two weeks has been same and different. We have been reading and talking about how people are the same and how they are different. We have also read the book, I Like Me! written and illustrated by Nancy Carlson. This is a book with simple text about a pig why she likes herself and how she takes care of herself. The book lends itself to a discussion about what we like about ourselves and how we take care of ourselves.

Tennis Shoes on Thursday We are very lucky to go to the BIG gym for this school year. Every Thursday we will go to gym with Coach Dobbs. It is very exciting for us!! She has asked that to protect the new gym floor, that our students wear tennis shoes on Thursday!!

Snack Calendar A snack calendar is coming home today. It would be helpful if each student would bring a snack they like, to share with their friends on the day with their name on it on the calendar. Fruit, fruit snacks, snack crackers, cheese, (healthy snacks), or something you would make for your child at home will work great. This will provide us with an afternoon snack. If you are unable to provide a snack, please let me know, I have extras in the room! Thank you!!!!! |

Morning Carpet Time We begin each day with carpet time. During carpet time we sing songs, name the days of the week, sing the ABC song, talk about the date and the weather, count and read stories. You may notice that your child is singing the ABC song a little differently. We sing the song to the tune of “Mary Had a Little Lamb”. This tune helps us to enunciate Each letter correctly while we sing. Ask your child to sing the “ I’m a Big Preschooler” song to you. This group loves to sing!! We have focused this week on learning routines, learning our friends names, and taking care of ourselves. We have enjoyed reading stories, such as, “Llama llama Time to Share” and “Llama llama Red Pajama”. |
